Head Brewer

Zack was born and raised in Louisville, KY. He graduated with a degree in psychology and was headed for a career in academia before deciding he needed a change.  After a year off and a whole lot of homebrewing, he chose to make beer his job.  He moved to San Diego to attend the UC San Diego brewing certificate program.  While on the West Coast, he got his start in the industry by brewing an astonishing number of IPAs at Rough Draft Brewing Company. After hearing about Metazoa, he jumped at the opportunity to contribute in its early stages and return to the Midwest.  In his spare time, Zack likes to play basketball, read, and try new beers.

Dave Worthington graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Indiana University in 1979. He has started approximately 10 businesses to date, including The Worthington Company. When Dave and Rand Wilson started Brewery Tours of Indianapolis in 2012, they thirsted to be more deeply involved in the craft beer community and decided to begin work on Metazoa Brewing Co. Dave is a retired home brewer and usually visits over 100 breweries per year. When he’s not enjoying beer you can find Dave on the golf course, fishing, or spending quality time with his family.

Favorite Beers: Anything with an ABV of 10% or above, and Belgians 

Favorite Animal: Speedy, his late three-legged cat.


Director, Sales + Marketing

Lauren graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies and a Minor in Theater Design from Vanderbilt University in 2012 before starting a career in sales and marketing. A lifelong beer-enthusiast, animal-lover, and self-proclaimed 'foodie,' Lauren was thrilled to become part of a company whose mission and culture was as unique and inspiring as its product. In her time outside the brewery, Lauren loves to cook, practice yoga, travel, and explore the local Indianapolis theater and arts scene. 

Favorite Beers: Anything made with coffee or chocolate!
Favorite Animals: Chimps and her white Persian cat, Sophie


Outside Sales

Carly grew up in small town Indiana. She graduated from Indiana University with a Tourism & Hospitality Management degree. After college Carly moved to Indianapolis and fell in love with the city. Outside work Carly enjoys spending time with her husband, cooking, sports, video games, and playing with her two dogs: Rosco & Jameson.

Event Coordinator

Originally from southern Indiana, Regan is a recent graduate of Purdue University where she studied Agriculture Communication. While there she found a love for planning and also a passion for Agriculture. After a few event planning internships she realized that was her path. Metazoa made perfect sense- barley makes beer and beer makes parties. 

Her passions include animal healthcare in agriculture as well as protecting our ecosystem. Her favorite things are cheesecakes and naps and subsequently kayaking to make up for the cheesecake and naps. :)

Nick was raised in small town Indiana, but moved to Indianapolis to attend college. Since completing his studies, Nick has dedicated his time to working with various non-profits around Indianapolis. He began home brewing nearly 5 years ago and fell in love with the process and product. At home, Nick enjoys experimenting to make many different types of beer, including barrel aging beer and sours. When he saw an opening for the small batch/experimental brewer open at Metazoa, he knew that he had to apply. Metazoa is Nick's first professional brewing experience and he is loving every minute of it. When he isn't brewing, Nickenjoys cycling and cooking.

John was born and raised in the Northwest side of Chicago. He attend the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and graduated from Columbia College with a degree in Film and Animation.   After 10 years of industrial film work and Hotel audio visual work, he realized that perhaps he should look outside his intended career field for a more fulfilling vocation. 

Having a love for beer and already homebrewing for about a year, he confidently, if not irrationally,  quit his job and and enrolled at The Siebel Institute, the country's oldest brewing school. After graduation, he landed a cellar position at Goose Island Beer Co.  He worked at Goose Island for 15 years and in that time, worked up to the position of Head Brewer. After Goose Island, he moved on to become Brewmaster at the Latin American-inspired startup brewery, 5 Rabbit Cerveceria. After 4 plus years at 5 Rabbit, he came to Metazoa in Indianapolis, leaving his home city for the first time. John says of the move, "I'm enjoying being a stranger in a strange land, and am really enjoying brewing in and exploring my new home."

Favorite Beers: Depends when you catch him, but Bohemian Pilsner is always up there

General Manager

On Feb. 7, 2007, Rand Wilson starting working for Dave Worthington at The Worthington Company as an on-site coordinator. He quickly proved himself invaluable to Dave. In 2012, Rand and Dave began Brewery Tours of Indianapolis together and Brewery Tours of St. Louis in 2013. As a  Marine, Rand currently holds the position of Past Commander of the American Legion Post 34 in Broad Ripple. He also enjoys riding his Harley Davidson Street Glide on long road trips or spur of the moment adventures.  

Favorite Beers: Anything hoppy or imperial 
Favorite Animals: all animals 


Asst. General Manager

Born and raised in Greenwood, Eric enrolled in the Police Academy after high school before attending Vincennes University where he studied both Physical Education Teaching and Computer Networking and Security. After college, he joined the Army and then soon started his career at Metazoa, first as one of our founding members of the bar staff and now as the AGM. In his free time, Eric loves movies, sports, and cooking with his son, Ethan.
